At Crest, we enjoy supporting local community events. We are therefore proud to announce that we are sponsoring the Opera Hunter’s production of ‘Don Giovanni.’

‘Don Giovanni’ is an opera in two acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. It is based on the legends of Don Juan. It was first performed by the Prague Italian opera at the National Theater (of Bohemia), now called the Estates Theatre, in 1787.

The cast will feature a number of notable Hunter principals, including rising Aboriginal-Australian star Georgia Hall, City of Newcastle Drama Association Award-winner Alex Sefton, and Opera Australia soloist Michael Saunders. The conductor will be Tasmanian-based Christopher Bearman OAM, and the director will be Michael Blaxland.

Hunter Opera is very proud of their ensemble of Hunter singers, and believes it is the highest standard of casting yet presented.

The production will be held on a number of evenings from the 14th of June to the 25th of June at the Lake Macquarie Performing Arts Centre.
